In a departure from our usual natural themed eco designs, we have introduced our new Fusion range. These designs combine handmade coloured glass with our signature handmade frame in frame design.
We are starting the range with three colourways; Spring, Fall (Autumn) and Ocean.
The glass batons are held off the limewashed backing board using special satin finished stand offs, this allows a ‘shadow’ containing the colours of the baton to appear on the back board.

The Crafts Council is launching a internet based scheme to show just how much support there is for contemporary craft based businesses like Florentine Designs, showing the best of UK hand-made designs. Spokeswomen Jill Read says; “we know that craft matters to thousands of people across the UK and we want to show this body of evidence rather than just dry statistics.”
The Craft Council is asking people to demonstrate their interest by signing up online prior to a press campaign. In the next few months the names of the people that sign up will be posted in the form of a graphic design to show this support.
To sign up go to www.craftscouncil.org.uk/craftmatters/ or you can read more about it here
You can be sure we have signed up already

We have been working with a customer who wanted a real statement piece having used all the size designs from Cobra, waldorf and through to Nexus, they wanted an even larger piece to use as a statement centre piece in the scheme.
The design consists of a 3 x 3 grid containing no less then 9 polished nautilus shells and framed using an ivory inner and a solid oak outer frame.
The design comes with a special ‘French Cleat’ fixing system.

Here we go again, it’s October and another market comes around again. This time there is a very definite buzz about market after the last couple of downbeat markets at the hieght of the downturn.
It’s the night before market starts, and using my ‘outback’ index as a guide, there were no tables free with a que to get one.
We are in our new booth M815 so a pay us a visit.

When the opportunity arose for us to share space at Home and Gift 2009 we jumped at the chance. We had not exhibited at this show and we wanted to launch our new range of solid oak inners and solid ash outers.
These can be specified on any of our existing product ranges as well as the new Nexus designs, that now include the popular shell designs.
Despite the current economic climate and the worst the Yorkshire weather had to throw at us, the feedback we received from both new and existing customers was very positive.
